April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, began taking piano and guitar lessons from age seven. She was interested in songwriting was awakened. When April was 12, she composed her first single, Different. She spent a lot of time at 14 making songs and practicing the piano. Then, in the following months, April began to go on trips with her dad and to write songs either in NY and LA. April also included additional topics in her hit song, Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt with things like peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal ideas. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle influencer as well as being a partner with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia, has built an impressive following. It's true that she was born without a left hand, and it makes her unique. But this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. As a result Lockhart's Instagram page isn't afraid to talk about her handicap, however it doesn't center around it neither. The point? It's important to keep in mind that we all have many faces, our identities are diverse and we are much beyond our body. I do not want this to be the only thing that defines me. I don't want to be a disability influencer where it's the only thing I speak about since there are many different things about my life. Lockhart states in video form from her home in Nashville. The issue doesn't affect my everyday routine. I carry on the same way as I always do and have come up with my own ways to adapt. The same is true for my personality, and that it is something to be talked about. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken will be one that lasts an entire lifetime. She is an inspiration for this purpose. Yet, she confesses to going through periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance as well as wearing clothes that showed her arms. She can wear whatever she'd like, and proudly shares photos of her dressed in her favorite outfits. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a destination. It's a fact that I see for everyone, whatever their insecurity is. It is important to have people in your life who know and appreciate the way you feel. They will be the ones asking you: What do you worry about?
