I spent months working 12 hour days sanding floors and tearing down wallpaper with one baby strapped to my back, and others playing in the playpen. Ha! Ha! It all started to seem logical, however it was still far from being done. To furnish the home would be a huge effort both in budget and time. It was also going to be a challenge to go out and shop for my most-loved items. My sons, my husband and I searched for hidden gems while at estate sales to ensure that my spending was under control. We used to go on a weekly basis of walking around garage sales and auctions on Sundays and Saturdays and purchase a range of pieces old and newly created. It was my job to spend the day on the drive either painting or sanding. It looked a bit similar to this... Here is where my obsession with the restoration of antique furniture began. Once our home was decorated, I couldn't quit! I had an area at the market to sell items. Eventually, my collection grew to the point that the space I had was not enough. The number of people who visited my house in one weekend to buy all the things on the ground. My business Growing Days began here. Growing Days wasn't just a thriving business but as well my family. There was a perfect balance between starting a new business and becoming a mother. Growing Days seemed like the perfect fit. Nora joined us in 2013 to be our fourth baby. The direction of my business was fantastic, but I needed to rest for a while. I made the decision to take a break and stay in my home with my children. It was just what I required. After a while. There were calls from people asking me to help them with interior decor and home renovations. It was mostly those who came to my open residence to buy furniture. After that, I gradually took on clients according to my own pace. Soon I had multiple clients and I was running as a home improvement business. If you'd have predicted that this venture of mine would turn into an idea for a TV show for the DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. Actually, I smile slightly when I recall the story.
