Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nomination in the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. In addition, she received two SAG Awards, both for exceptional performances in an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Her mother, Anne played in plays at church as a child and instilled a passion of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna was a child who watched her mother, Anne, in church productions. The experience instilled a passion for theater.
Fischer is an actor with the theater background. She starred as Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway drama Reasons to be Happy. The Old Globe Theatre's premiere, she played opposite Greg Germann as well as Josh Stamberg in Steve Martin's comical comedy Meteor Shower.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey launched a podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to gained immense popularity, settling within the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads within its first two years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Awards in January 2021.
The Actor's Life was her first novel, and describes the path she traveled to get from St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood which is where she discovered her calling as an actor professionally. Her second, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is an autobiography about her closest friend, as well as their time in The Office.
